AFL: Fremantle and Richmond have been spared the brutal winds and rain that have lashed WA in recent days but the contest is still set to be intense.

This is a big game for Fremantle if they want to establish their top-four credentials.

Richmond are a struggling club and the Dockers must be ruthless and see them as a chance to boost their percentage.

But you can never underestimate teams in the AFL.

FT: Fremantle 103, Richmond 43

Tigers fans can be pleased with their first half but the Dockers found their ruthlessness in the second to put them to the sword.

Had Fremantle kicked straight they could have registered a triple-figure massacre but Longmuir and the fans will be happy with the percentage boost as it stands.

Treacy and Bolton were two of the chief destroyers while Serong was devastating around the ground.

The Dockers end with more than 40 clearances and over 60 inside 50s, equalling the club record for behinds in the process with 25.

Chasing the record

Fremantle are now only one behind off their all-time record for behinds.

Voss took a good mark but cramp in his right hamstring hurt him on the kick as he put through the Dockers’ 24th behind.

Crowd

Today’s attendance is 35,245.

A good effort considering the miserable weather conditions around Perth.

The big man!

Darcy has popped up on a strong lead in the forward line and taken a good mark.

He makes no mistake on his left boot and his teammates get around the under-pressure ruckman.

He adds a major to his 24 hitouts as Fremantle crack the ton.

Serong!

Caleb Serong is electric!

He now has two goals to go with 26 disposals and nine clearances.

Cleanest since who?

David King is falling in love with Treacy at Optus Stadium after he equals his career-high for marks at 11.

He says “I think he has the cleanest hands I’ve seen since (Wayne) Carey”.

To be fair, the big Docker plucked a very strong mark out of the contest from a fast kick in from Bolton.

He now has 4.3 for the afternoon.

Goalless?

Fremantle kept the Tigers goalless in terms one and three.

Could they keep them out here and have Richmond go without a major for 75 per cent of the game?

The game is getting out of hand for the Tigers now.

They are running out of steam and Fremantle have almost exclusive access to the footy.

Bolton had a huge influence in that term with flash and class to lead all-comers while Reid just continues to pop up in dangerous space and do good things.

Trainer, Taranto and Lalor are fighting hard in midfield but Richmond can’t get past halfback.

Treacy got another shot after the siren having taken his 10th mark of the match and nailed it to make it seven goals in a row for the men in purple.

Complete domination

The numbers are starting to stack up against the Tigers and the scores are blowing out.

The Dockers lead disposals by 52 and are winning the hitouts 40 to seven.

They are also killing the Tigers in the clearance game with 33 to 20 and the inside 50 count is now 46 to 27 in the favour of the home side.

If Fremantle kick straight this will be a big win.
