Local VIPs and media figure were invited to a first look at Christopher Nolan’s latest film The Odyssey on Tuesday night, with the blockbuster’s Perth premiere hosted at Event Cinemas Innaloo.

Due for general release on Thursday, the epic features Hollywood A-listers Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, among a host of big names.

It follows Nolan’s previous hit, Oppenheimer, released theatrically in July 2023 — famously, coinciding with Greta Gerwig’s cultural phenomenon, Barbie.

Based on Homer’s classic Greek poem, The Odyssey’s almost three-hour duration did not deter cinema-goers who had committed to the weeknight showing.

Those fortunate enough to snag a ticket included TV and comedy personality Rove McManus, tennis ace Matt Ebden, and news presenter Natalie Forrest.
