Fremantle are unstoppable in 2026 as they cruised to win No.14 on the trot as the star-studded Suns failed to show up.
Gold Coast had not been in the best of form and that continued despite still boasting Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson, Touk Miller, Jarrod Witts and Christian Petracca.
Meanwhile, the good times continue to roll for Murphy Reid, Luke Jackson and Shai Bolton.

That’s that
That brings another round of footy action to an end with Fremantle now two games clear atop the ladder.
We are back on Friday as West Coast take on Adelaide who will be smarting after losing the Showdown on Saturday night.
Until then, farewell!
Good, bad, ugly
Run throughs
Sean Darcy is still out on the ground being taken through some extra running drills.
He didn’t have a huge night but is looking as fit as he has in the last two years.
Corey Wagner has now come out to join him as well.

THREE-WORD ANALYSIS
FT: Fremantle 80, Gold Coast 29
This match never reached any great heights but Fremantle show they can dominate in any conditions.
The wet weather saved the Suns from an absolute thrashing but the visitors didn’t dish up anything good.
Reid, Brayshaw and Bolton were simply brilliant while the big forwards were too much for the Suns to handle.
Anderson played a lone hand in the engine room for Gold Coast while Rowell, and Petracca in particular, were shown up by the men in purple.
Cox was very good in defence for Fremantle and deserves a lot of credit for the Suns struggling to breach the big sticks.
Fair dedication
The Dockers faithful have braved the weather for another big crowd.

Happy Birthday
Voss gets an early birthday present ahead of tomorrow with his first major of the night.
The kick in was perfect from Ryan who hit the big man lace out.
It comes after Petracca kicked the Suns 11th behind of the night.

Ouch
The Suns have been so woeful the moon has decided to make an early appearance over Optus Stadium.
It’s near full as the Stadium lights start to take over and Gold Coast still have not managed another goal.
They do now have 10 behinds.

Disappointing
Are the Gold Coast Suns the most disappointing team in the comp this year?
A team with Rowell, Anderson, Petracca, Miller and Witts in the middle, Walter and King up forward, Mac Andrews and Sam Collins down back as well as a crazy amount of high-selection academy picks should not be held to two goals through three and a half quarters.
The only top-eight side they have beaten this year is Geelong in round one and they have hardly won away from People First Stadium.
Where does Damien Hardwick go from here becuase last year’s maiden finals appearance looks a long way away?
