Sport: It’s not the final they expected but the Aussie Diamonds will open the final day of the Commonwealth Games battling for a bronze medal with England.

A number of Australians will also be shooting for gold in the Velodrome while their is some Bowls and Judo action still to come.

Set one win

Damien Delgado and James Reynolds overwhelmed New Zealand in the first set, winning 8-1.

They are one set away from the gold medal.

One more gold medal chance

Another Aussie has a chance to add the gold medal tally, Kayhan Ozcicek-Takagi’s semi-final match was a gruelling bout.

The near seven minute contest left both competitors absolutely gassed, but Canada’s John Messe A Bessong received the losing yellow card to put it to an end.

In the final judo match of the Commonwealth Games, Ozcicek-Takagi will face Cyprus’ Giannis Antoniou for gold.

Swan’s song

Maria Swan’s quick score against Canada’s Coralie Godbout was enough to win her way into the gold medal match.

The 78kg fighter will face England’s Emma Reid, and will have a bit of respite before she marches back to the tatami just after 10pm AWST.

Quarter-final qualified

Liliya Tatarinoff has qualified for the quarter-finals of the women’s keirin.

A second place finish in the first heat was enough to guarentee a spot and she can watch the next race without pressure.

Hoffman’s golden trifecta!

Leigh Hoffman wins a third gold in Glasgow following his record breking ride in the time trial of 58.530.

Winning in the sprint and team sprint, he will come back to Australia with now three golds already his neck.

20-year-old Tate Ryan’s 59.684 held on to win bronze, his second at Glasgow.

Hoffman’s record ride!

Team sprint lead Leigh Hoffman has set a new Commonwealth Games record with his stunning ride to steal the top spot from Tate Ryan.

Untried in the 1000m, Hoffman entered as an unknown despite being brilliant in the shorter distances - and it translated beautifully.

Young gun for gold?

Comm games greenhorn Tate Ryan has shot into the gold medal position in the time trial finals.

The 20-year-old kicked into gear in the final laps and is the first rider to crack the minute mark with his 59.684 ride.

At worst he will finish fourth with three more to come.

Another gold on the cards?

It’s time for the men to grab their own gold, taking on New Zealand in the para pairs b6-b8 decider.

Cornish sits second

Back to the velodrome, Thomas Cornish has shot to the silver medal position in the men’s time trial final.

His 1.00.370 wasn’t enough to steal Harry Ledingham-Horn’s spot atop the leaderboard.

There are still six cyclists left to ride, including Tate Ryan and gun Leigh Hoffman.
