The inspiration
Intel
Geelong coach spent the night gathering intel and will feel positive about Brisbane after getting the best of them in the qualifying final at the MCG.
But Brisbane have looked very different the last two weeks.
It should be a cracker next week.
Loud and proud
The Lions have roared out the song after that win.
This team and Chris Fagan have proved time and again how good they are.
Key Takeaways
It’s one of the great modern-day rivalries and Brisbane and Collingwood once again served up an MCG classic in one of the great preliminary finals.
FULL TIME: Collingwood 71, Brisbane 100
The Lions are heading to a third decider in as many years and keep the streak of making the grand final as the reigning premiers at 100 per cent.
They were challenged big time in the second term but their response after half-time sums up why they have been so successful.
McCluggage was best on field by a long way with 37 touches and 10 clearances but he had an impressive support cast.
Zorko recovered his awful first half to have nearly 30 touches and a late goal while Willmott, Bailey and Ashcroft were superb.
Nick Daicos gave his heart and soul as always but outside of his brother, few Pies were able to impress on the big stage.
WA ruck Darcy Cameron deserves an honourable mention for beating Fort and McInerney in the ruck with 34 hitouts, 15 disposals and three clearances.

Knock out
Lohmann has soccered another by soccering the ball through and celebrates with a few push ups in front of the Pies fans.
Five goals is a huge stretch in five minutes.

From the back paddock!
Youngster Gallop comes from deep in the back after Zorko bombed the ball to a huge forward pack to take a clunk.
He made the set shot look very easy and that makes it real hard for the Pies now.
It’s the biggest margin of the game at 24 points.

Ropeable
The Pies fans are steaming after not getting a front-on contact free kick 20 metres out from goal but it was a clean spoil back with the flight from Starcevich.
The Lions then go end-to-end with a big contest win and elite kick over the back from Morris to Cameron.
The West Aussie has been quiet but he nailed the set shot when Brisbane needed it most.

By the skin of his teeth
A long goal review has decided a soccer battle between Andrews and Cox has gone the way of Collingwood.
Both players got their foot to the ball but Cox was slightly later and was deemed the last to touch it, meaning it was called a goal.
