AFL: Is today the day we see West Coast make a move?
The Eagles continue to scope out the possibility of bringing in Jack Viney or Gryan Miers to add experience to their young list, while the Dockers are assessing their options after on Tuesday finding a landing spot for Nathan O’Driscoll.

That’s where we’ll leave it
Plenty of action, though not all of it necessarily at the trade table. We’ll be back from 7am tomorrow as we enter the halfway point of the trade period.
A recap of the action
Just the one trade today with Jordan Ridley and Jack Bowes trading places at Essendon and Geelong, with some pick swaps thrown in.
We also saw two Bulldogs come west, with Zac Walker joining West Coast’s WAFL team while Dominic Bedendo joined the Dockers as a delisted free agent.
Any move to the Eagles for Gryan Miers was also emphatically shut down.
Ridley opens up on Cats move
“For me it was Chris Scott - how he presented the club and how I could fit in...it made it a really appealing place to want to play footy.”
“I really feel like I have a ways to go in terms of improvement in my footy, part of that being because I have missed so much footy, I still have a lot of footy ahead of me. I have confidence if I can get my body right I will get back to my best.
“They have a really good history of getting guys in my position back on the field, you can just see what they’ve done with Jack Martin...I think also the prospect of being in a new environment, new voices and new place to live that can only be good.”
ICYMI: Dockers lead tributes to iconic Perth composer
Some sad news as iconic Perth jingle writer Ken Walther passed away earlier this week.
His written a number of iconic peices but none bigger than the Dockers theme song.
Premiership Cat linked to WA move
Premiership defender Jed Bews is reportedly looking for possible player/coaching opportunities, having been delisted by the Cats last month.
Former Dog joins Dockers
In a move that’s come out of left field, Fremantle have looked to cover the loss of Nathan O’Driscoll by signing Dominic Bedendo from Port Melbourne.
The 24-year-old played two games with the Bulldogs in 2022 and joins the Dockers as a delisted free agent on a two-year deal.
Eagles renew Rivers interest
West Coast are expected to turn their attention to Melbourne half-back Trent Rivers after the door was closed on a potential trade for Geelong premiership forward Gryan Miers on Wednesday.
New favourite emerges for Lions job
Following Danny Daly’s withdrawal, the Lions have named the panel that will select their next coach.
And there’s a new clear favourite.
Eagles sign former Bulldog
West Coast have wasted little time in bolstering their WAFL list, adding a former Western Bulldogs defender only a month after he was delisted by the Victorian club.
Will Eagles split pick No.3?
West Coast chief executive Don Pyke says it will take something “unbelievable” for the Eagles to trade out their first-round pick in this year’s national draft, but won’t categorically rule it out.
