There is peak hour traffic chaos following a crash between two vehicles on a major highway in North Fremantle.

Emergency crews, including police and DFES, are on the scene of the crash on Stirling Highway in the southbound lane near Harvest Road after the two cars collided at about 7.30am.

DFES officers were called in because an electric vehicle involved in the crash would not turn off.

Main Roads said the left lane was blocked, people were out of their cars, and traffic is heavy in the area.

Drivers have been warned to “proceed with caution”.

No injuries have been reported.
