Vandals hit school trees

Sound Telegraph

About 30 trees planted within the verges surrounding Ridge View Secondary College in Baldivis have been vandalised causing an estimated $15,000 damage.

The trees, most of which had only been planted 12 months ago, were targeted between 5pm last Thursday and 9am on Friday.

In a Facebook post Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby described the act as “mindless vandalism”.

“As a new suburb, we need trees and an increased urban canopy in Baldivis,” he wrote.

“Which is why this makes our community so angry.”
