Rockingham actress Krystina Tasker is continuing to make waves across Hollywood, with success in a number of roles.

The 22-year-old just finished filming an episode of Days of Our Lives, which will air later this year.

“I’m a huge fan of soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives,” she said.

“I’m very good friends with the casting director and my family loves the show, so it’s exciting they get to see me on it. It was one one of the best experiences of my life.”

Tasker moved to Hollywood in 2013 after completing her studies at John Curtin College of the Arts in 2012.

She enrolled in a one-year program at TV1 Actors Studio and has since been working with top casting directors and has starred in a number of independent projects.

Tasker had a leading role in the short film, Nora, directed by Kyaw Thein Kha.

The film is based around a young man, Brian, who finds out his landlord is a serial killer and her son Michael is a psychopath.

Brian discovers Michael is targeting his girlfriend Hannah, played by Tasker, as his next victim, and he struggles to escape them in order to protect her. The film premiered at Warner Brothers Studios last year and has also been sent off to a number of film festivals.

Tasker started dancing when she was three and got the role of Eponine in the Black Swan State Theatre Company production of Les Miserables in 2005.

“From there, I just excelled and I knew acting was what I wanted to do,” she said.

One of her biggest achievements was being short-listed to read alongside Al Pacino.

While she missed out on the role, she said she was incredibly proud to have the chance to audition.

In 2014, Tasker joined BuzzFeed to film If You’ve Been Bullied, You’re Not Alone, which reached more than half a million followers.

Tasker joined BuzzFeed in 2017, for the second time in a lead role to film Love Language, which also reached more than half a million followers.

In 2017, she was part of an internet TV show/fashion competition by Awesomeness TV, which was hosted by Dance Mom’s star Chloe Lukasiak and an infomercial for eSalon. Tasker said she was drawn to dramas but would be happy to take on any role that came her way.

“A huge dream of mine was to appear in The Vampire Diaries,” she said.

Late last year, Tasker was delighted to film a Cricket Wireless commercial with WWE professional wrestler, actor and TV Host John Cena, which has notched up more than 166 million views.

“I got to introduce John Cena in the commercial,” she said.

“I’m a huge fan of his.”

Tasker’s diversity as an actor was put to test, when she voiced a character in the popular video game Life is Strange, Before the Storm.

The game has been nominated for more than 75 awards, has been reviewed by the Washington Post and MTV UK and has its own merchandise line. This year, Tasker was selected to audition for a lead role in an upcoming pilot called The Boys, produced by Seth Rogan.

Tasker said she aimed to be a “working actor”.

“I hate the word famous,” she said. “I just want to be recognised for my craft.”

Tasker plans to continue working in Los Angeles but enjoys coming home regularly to visit friends and family.
