Premier Mark McGowan and wife Sarah will be among this weekend’s fine-diners as the much-anticipated Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce Long Table Lunch takes place on Saturday.

A stand-out event on the Rockingham social calendar, the lunch is in its fourth year and tickets are once more sold out.

Attendees will get a chance to sample the region’s culinary delicacies and enjoy an array of entertainment as a marquee is set up on the Rockingham sand.

Mr McGowan said he was looking forward to attending and the event was a drawcard for Rockingham.

“It is a terrific event and a great showcase for local culinary expertise and local produce,” he said.

“To have lunch on the sand is great fun — it really is quite unique.

“Like the Rockingham Beach Cup and other events, it is positive for our city.

“I appreciate the fact that a lot of people have gone to a lot of effort to organise it — it is really terrific.”

Chamber chief executive Tony Solin hailed the community’s efforts in banding together to make the event happen again.

“There are more than 50 businesses involved in putting the Long Table Lunch together, with everyone pitching in to make the event a showcase for Rockingham,” he said.

“With great food and entertainment on Perth’s best beach, the lunch is a celebration of why Rockingham is a great place to live and work.”
