Medina grow house uncovered in police raid

Two men have been charged by Organised Crime Squad detectives after three search warrants, including one in Medina, allegedly uncovered a significant haul of cannabis plants.

At about 11.50am on Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at a house in Brownell Crescent in Medina and allegedly found 88 cannabis plants being grown in a hydroponic setup.

Police allegedly seized the plants and hydroponic equipment during the raid, with a second search warrant executed later on Wednesday uncovering 200 cannabis plants and a hydroponic setup at a property on Thea Walk in Willetton.

Police say a third search warrant was executed early this morning at a house on Berwick Street in St James, with a large quantity of cash located at the property.

A 32 year old man of St James was charged with two counts of cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell/supply, fraudulent appropriation of power and unlawful possession.

A 22 year old man of St James was also charged with cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell/supply and fraudulent appropriation of power.

Both appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court earlier today with their next court appearance on February 8.
