Baldivis musicians band together for concert

The sound of music will be in the air at the Baldivis Children's Forest tomorrow when the Baldivis Youth Band performs a concert.
The band links musicians from Baldivis Primary School, Tuart Rise Primary School, Baldivis Secondary College and Mother Teresa Catholic College.
Music teachers Diana Triscari and Clare McLoughlin started the band last year to give students an opportunity to play music with like-minded peers and inspire them to continue developing their musical skills.
“The fact that most of the students who left to attend high school this year have chosen to continue with the band is confirmation of us how important it has been to give these children this opportunity,” Mrs Triscari said.
Baldivis Children’s Forest administrative coordinator Hannah Godsave said the organisation was excited to host the event.
“With four schools and their families involved this is a real community event to celebrate the talent and effort of the children in our community,” she said.
Community members are encouraged to attend the event from 4pm to 6pm tomorrow.
Tickets, which include light refreshments, cost $10 for adults, and $5 for children. Family tickets are $25 and are available at www.trybooking.com/ZHLA.
