A serial drink-driver on his provisional licence has been disqualified from driving for more than three years after he was caught drink-driving at the wheel for a third time.

Lake Clifton driver Michael Maurice, 29, was charged with driving under the influence after he returned a blood alcohol level of 0.151 last month, while also failing to correctly display his P-plates.

Maurice did not appear in Harvey Magistrates Court earlier this month but was found guilty of driving under the influence. The court was told of two previous drink-driving charges.

He was given a $2700 fine for driving under the influence with court costs of $259.30, fined $100 for failing to display P-plates and banned from driving for 42 months.
