Arnott’s reveals Aussie dads’ favourite biscuits: Tim Tam, Mint Slice, Raspberry Shortcake make the cut

As Father’s Day approaches, the important question of which biscuit reigns supreme with Aussie dads has been asked, and the top five results have revealed a shocking truth.

Popular Australian biscuit company Arnott’s took on the task of asking dads which snack, from their brand, was their favourite.

Unsurprisingly (fight me), the humble and beloved Tim Tam absolutely slaughtered the competition, securing the top spot with nearly half of the dads involved in the survey.

Sadly, Aussie dads weren’t asked if they keep the Tim Tams in the fridge or the cupboard. However, perhaps a bit of calm around that topic could do us some good.

Aussie dads became a bit more unpredictable from there.

The Mint Slice came in second, securing 11 per cent of the vote. The chocolate and mint combination bikkie, loved by some and loathed by others, still came out on top of some pretty solid Arnott’s offerings.

The Scotch Finger came in thirst, just shy of the Mint Slice, with 10 per cent of the vote. Although not the Rolls Royce of biscuits, the reliable, surprisingly satisfying classic holds strong, unless dunked in a delicious warm beverage.

Rounding out the top five, both with seven per cent, were Arnott’s Shapes, surveyed as Shapes collectively because making Aussies agree to a favourite flavour there is a mission in itself, and, just sneaking in, the Raspberry Shortcake.

The official ranking puts Shapes just above the Raspberry Shortcake, but the result was close.

The Raspberry Shortcake, which falls into Arnott’s “cream and fancy biscuit” range and describes itself as a “perfect combination of two melt-in-the-mouth shortcake biscuits sandwiched with a burst of jammy raspberry-flavoured filling”, sparked alarm earlier in 2025, when Reddit groups suggested it was being discontinued.

“Apparently they’ve been discontinued ‘due to low sales and limited shelf space in supermarkets’,” one user wrote on Reddit.

“I’m surprised the raspberry shortbread biscuits aren’t popular, they’re so good!”

Perhaps, now with this big win with Aussie dads, the Raspberry Shortcake may be set to live another day.
