Our Big Travel Quiz Night is back, with $10,000 worth of Flight Centre vouchers to be won.

Tickets are $30, and you can bring a team or join a mixed table — either organise friends to make up one of our tables of 10 or, perhaps, come as a couple and join eight others on a table to make up a team.

Our quiz nights have always filled up quickly, so we suggest you get in quick.

Here’s the lowdown

Jeans and jumpers, three rounds each of 15 questions, and a few fun games, too. We’re writing the questions, and they will all be based on stories published in print in Saturday Travel or Sunday Travel in 2026.

It’s $30 a ticket, team tables of 10, a good platter by the Pagoda team and us, and a pay bar for you.

Yep, the Big Travel Quiz Night is going to be a low-key sort of evening, when we can dig into our travel knowledge and experiences, and just have a bit of fun.

The Questions

We’re not buying quiz questions in a box. Stephen Scourfield is writing the questions himself, based on stories published in our pages — so they will be relevant to you, our readers. If you read us regularly, you might know some of the answers. But travellers can just turn up, as they would at any quiz night, and use (and test) their travel knowledge. We’ll have questions about places around the world, with a good smattering about WA, too.

How the evening will go

Dress code: Does it sound silly to mention this? Well, it’s not. While we do plenty of dress-up banquet dinners, the Big Travel Quiz Night is a casual evening. No need for ball gowns, boas and sparkly bits. Dress down, feel comfortable. (OK, with some sparkly bits.)

Where and when

The Pagoda Resort and Spa, 112 Melville Parade, Como.

Friday, August 28, 2026. Arrive from 6.30pm, start at 7pm, finish at 9.30pm.

We also suggest you might like to stay the night — not drive home, and get up to a good breakfast in the morning, and make a real event of it. Call the Pagoda team on 9367 0300 and say you’re with us, or visit pagoda.com.au. The room rate is reduced from $277 to $250 a night (used the code PagodaDirect).

The prizes

Our friends at Flight Centre have put up $10,000 in prize travel vouchers.

The winning team table of 10 will each receive a $500 travel voucher — $5000 for the table. (If a couple comes, that would be a nice $1000 start towards a holiday!)

The team placed second will each receive a $200 voucher — $2000 for the table.

The third team will each receive a $100 voucher — $1000 for the table.

And there’ll be lots of spot prizes of $100 vouchers. Win a game and you could win a voucher.

You can use the travel vouchers towards your next holiday booked with Flight Centre. Flight Centre, our presenting partner, has such a massive range of travel options, there’s something for everyone, as you will know by visiting one of their stores, flightcentre.com.au or calling 133 133.

How

Three rounds, each of 15 questions.

There will be a couple of fun games, too, and time to meet the team and chat.

Special note

We have a “Dead Ringer” policy. If anyone in a team even looks at their mobile phone, the whole team will be deemed dead and gone.
