The creative juices flowed freely when a group of enthusiastic West Travel Club members joined us for a wander around the historic Fremantle west end last Sunday morning.

Some came with smartphones, others with DSLR and mirrorless cameras but all came with the aim to improve their photographic skills — to work on their photography and develop their creative eye.

Fremantle’s west end offer endless opportunities to do just that... And many fine images were captured.

We spent time at the historic roundhouse, explored the old workshops along Fleet and Slip Street, admired the sleek modern lines at the WA Maritime Museum and marvelled at the remarkable building facades along Cliff Street.

The next West Travel Club Photowalk will be at Claisbrook Cove in East Perth on May 9.

Travel photographers Stephen Scourfield and Mogens Johansen will lead the walk around the picturesque cove and parklands.

From riverside scenes to contemporary architecture, and a park with a creekline to the graphic lines of the Trafalgar Bridge, there’s plenty for the eye to fall on.

This photowalk is aimed at smartphone users but participants with traditional cameras are welcome too.
