A luxurious new bar inspired by a tequila legend is set to be unveiled at Crown Perth later this month in a coup for cocktail lovers and premium spirit drinkers, if they can find it.
Tucked away in an exclusive space at Crown Towers’ TWR, 42 by Don Julio promises guests an intimate, custom-built nightlife experience where every seat feels VIP — of which there are just 35.
Opening on September 25, Perth will get its first taste of the venue’s elevated tequila cocktail menu served by top mixologists, a small bites selection featuring a bespoke 42 caviar experience, tuna tostadas and wagyu empanadas, and smooth lounge tunes to wash it down.
Taking the name of one of the world’s most premium spirits, the bar will also become Australia’s first permanent branded bar featuring Don Julio 1942 tequila.
Crown Perth CEO Brian Pereira said the addition would offer patrons an experience not available elsewhere.
“This is a venue where nightlife meets premium drinks and music and gives our guests not just another reason to visit, but another reason to stay a bit longer and explore something not available anywhere else,” he said.
“As we continue to evolve our food and beverage experiences, this venue further reinforces Crown’s position in Perth as a leading premium hospitality and entertainment destination, delivering unforgettable experiences.”
Named after the year founder Don Julio González began his tequila-making journey, Don Julio 1942 is produced in small batches and aged for a minimum of two and a half years, garnering a reputation for being one of the industry’s most premium spirits.

“Don Julio 1942 has become part of some of the world’s most memorable celebrations, from intimate moments through to landmark occasions,” Ms Shimmons said.
”To launch this experience at Crown Perth, a destination renowned for delivering luxury experiences, makes this an incredibly special milestone for us.”
The lavish addition complements premium wine bar Gladstones which opened at the entertainment hub earlier this year.
In 2027, Crown Perth will also welcome Khao San Sek by Thai culinary superstar Pichaya Soontornyanakij, or Chef Pam, and Michelin-starred Swedish chef, Björn Frantzén, who will unveil his world-famous Brasserie Astoria concept.
