Cycling holidays are hugely popular in Europe — and we know holiday riders are keen to find other trips on two wheels.

And I like the eight-day Tour de Resplendent ride in Sri Lanka.

For both experienced and beginner cycle holiday makers, there’s a choice of routes and elevation levels, which caters for a wide range of participants.

And riders stay at Resplendent Ceylon resorts — Ceylon Tea Trails, Wild Coast Tented Lodge and Cape Weligama.

A spokesperson says the tour blends safety, comfort and the spirit of exploration:

The routes are from Sri Lanka’s southern coast to the edge of Yala National Park before continuing into the island’s highlands.

While staying at Tea Trails, guests can explore guided cycling routes through the Bogawantalawa Valley — from misty ridges to forest paths and historic plantation roads.

They stay in restored planter bungalows.

And trips can be personalised to meet your individual preferences. Inquiries require a lead time of seven days.
