There are a lot of Bali online visa scams going on.

The Perth-based Indonesia Institute has confirmed what we have been reporting recently.

Founder Ross Taylor says: “There are now numerous websites that are designed to look like the official Indonesian Government site.

“Inevitably, they will charge a far higher fee for the visa-on-arrival, that should cost no more than $50, and disturbingly up to $80 for the customs declaration and arrival form — that should be issued free of charge.”

He adds: “Bali-bound travellers should take care when completing both the visa-on-arrival form and the customs arrival declaration before they depart.

“The official website that tourists from WA should use is: allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id.”
