WA product Sam Petrevski-Seton has requested a trade to West Coast.

Carlton confirmed the former No.6 draft pick informed the club of his decision on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old is out of contract after a turbulent season with the Blues.

He appeared in just 14 games, taking his career total to 94, and was dropped to Carlton’s VFL side from rounds nine to 14.

“Sam has officially requested a trade,” Carlton head of football Brad Lloyd said.

“We will now work with the West Coast Eagles Football Club and Sam’s management to finalise the deal.”

Petrevski-Seton had also attracted interest from several Victorian clubs before announcing his desire to return to his home State.

He does not qualify for free agency, meaning the Eagles will have to acquire him by trade.

West Coast currently holds picks 10, 29, 36, 49 and 65 in this year’s national draft.

A stand-out junior player at Halls Creek and Claremont colts, Petrevski-Seton was taken with Carlton’s first-round pick in the 2016 national draft.

DAWSON NOMINATES CROWS

Sydney’s Jordan Dawson has officially requested a trade to Adelaide.

The youngster has played 64 games for the Swans in five seasons, missing just one match in 2021.

After reports he was keen to head home to South Australia, Port Adelaide emerged as an early front runner to secure Dawson’s signature.

But Adelaide was quick to lure the 24-year-old home.

“The Crows will now work with Sydney to finalise a deal to secure the South Australian who has played 64 games since being drafted with Pick No.56 in 2015,” the Crows said in a statement.

The AFL’s trade period officially begins on October 4.

SILVAGNI STAYS BLUE

Jack Silvagni will remain at Carlton after signing a new two-year deal on Tuesday.

Silvagni, the son of club legend Stephen, has played 78 games for the club.

“I’m incredibly excited to recommit and sign on for a further two seasons,” Silvagni said.

“This football club has been a very significant part of my life from the moment I was born and to be able to continue doing what I love in the Navy Blue guernsey is something I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to do.

“I really enjoyed being able to work on different areas of my game this year and throw my hat in the ring to play in various positions, so I’m looking forward to seeing where I can take my game over the next two seasons.”
