AFL Watch: West Coast Eagles midfielder Clay Hall continues hot form in WAFL, Tom Gross strong in contest

Rhett Bazzo: Had a pivotal match up against Perth spearhead Aaron Clarke who kicked two goals. Split the honours. Malakai Champion: The small forward provided elite pressure and was rewarded several times including in front of goal in the first term. Campbell Chesser: Wasn’t able to replicate his stellar return from injury against the Demons. Hamish Davis: Kicked a late goal but couldn’t work his way into the contest on a wing. Lucca Grego: Had some moments when he burst out of defence but didn’t impose himself on the contest. Tom Gross: Recorded team-high eight clearances to go with 23 disposals as he pushes for another AFL recall. Clay Hall: Continues to be the Eagles’ best in the WAFL. A well-rounded outing with 29 touches and seven clearances. Harvey Johnston: His work-rate impressed throughout the contest as he put in a lot of selfless running efforts for his team. Coen Livingstone: A goal was his only real notable effort in the game as he was shut out by Perth’s backline Tom McCarthy: Started hotly with nine touches and a goal in the first term but didn’t go on with it, racking up only 11 more disposals for the match. Jacob Newton: Struggled in his first outing with one handball to three-quarter time but kicked a goal in the final term. Jack Petruccelle: Kicked two goals but one came from a free kick. Didn’t have that spark and speed he is known for. Loch Rawlinson: Looked lost amongst the contest despite trying to simply work his way into the contest. Jobe Shanahan: Threw his body around down back and took some strong marks to continue to impress as a defender. Bailey Williams: Started the game predominantly as a forward, tried to take mark of the year and had a good patch in the ruck with 23 hit-outs and four clearances.
