Super Netball 2025: West Coast Fever star Kadie-Ann Dehaney on ‘unreal’ and ‘unbelievable’ 100 game milestone

West Coast Fever defender Kadie-Ann Dehaney says she cannot believe how quickly she’s reached 100 Super Netball games as she prepares to celebrate the milestone in the biggest game of the season to date. Fever are not only searching for a league record 11th consecutive win when they host the Giants at RAC Arena on Sunday, but should the NSW Swifts lose to the Sunshine Coast Lightning the day before, they will secure the minor premiership and the right to host the major semifinal. It would put Fever in pole position to claim their second premiership after consecutive one-goal preliminary heartbreaks since their breakthrough grand final victory in 2022. For Dehaney it will also mark the personal milestone of a century of games, having joined Fever before last season after playing for the Lightning and Melbourne Vixens previously — winning a premiership with the latter in 2020. “It’s been the best team and good coaching around me as well,” she said. “To play my 100th game is unreal, an unbelievable moment because I can’t believe I got to it that quick. “I guess it is real when they say ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ because it surely did.” The Jamaican defender is loving her time at Fever for many reasons, including getting the chance to play alongside countrywomen Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and Shanice Beckford. Dehaney said it would be extra special to claim a premiership alongside the goal scoring duo who have represented their country together at various international tournaments. “It means everything. I feel like it would be so cool if we can actually win together because we we’ve never actually won anything together,” she said. “Fingers crossed we can go all the way and get a championship together.” Dehaney is part of a powerhouse defence that features Diamonds star Sunday Aryang and England skipper Fran Williams. “We prepare for everything. The combinations for this weekend (against the Giants) we might use Fran and Sunday more for that moving circle and that brought us great success last time we played the Giants,” Dehaney said. “Teams have to prepare for all types of looks ... whereas going up against other teams, you just have to prepare for maybe for one or two combinations. “That’s our superpower at the moment, we can look 10 different ways and still come up with the win.”
