Fremantle have lost another fitness expert with Greater Western Sydney poaching strength and conditioning coach Jackson Dennis.

Seven’s Mitch Cleary revealed the Giants have taken on Dennis as their new high-performance boss following the departure of Nick Poulos earlier this month.

It leaves the Dockers in somewhat of a hole with Dennis, the second fitness expert to leave the club in recent weeks, having spent nearly a decade at the club.

Former high-performance boss Phil Merriman made a shock switch to crosstown rivals West Coast earlier this month, leaving the Dockers without their top two fitness bosses.

Fremantle Football boss Joe Brierty thanked Merriman for his service but said it was an opportunity to look for new leadership.

“We thank Phil for his contribution to Fremantle over the past five seasons,” Brierty said.

“It’s never easy to farewell someone that has made a significant contribution to the Club and we wish Phil all the best for the new challenge that awaits.

“As we continue to evolve our men’s football program, this decision provides us with an opportunity to find new leadership to take our high-performance strategy forward.”
