Scotland have denied Australia’s men’s para pairs team Damien Delgado and Chris Flavel more gold in Birmingham but the Jackaroos’ teams and men’s singles hope Aaron Wilson were all untroubled.

The duo were in control at 4-2 on Tuesday as they attempted to emulate Ellen Ryan’s historic Commonwealth Games gold 24 hours earlier at Leamington Spa’s picturesque Victoria Park.

But Scotland produced two, three and two-shot ends in succession to jump ahead 10-4 and eventually win 16-7.

Australia’s first women’s singles champion Ryan began her quest for double gold, with best mate Kristina Krstic, with a comfortable win.

As did Australia’s women’s triples team and the men’s fours, while Wilson beat Phillip Jim from the Cook Islands 21-9.
