Fremantle champion Matthew Pavlich has been named as one of three members of the review panel which will likely decide the fate of Carlton coach David Teague.

Pavlich joins former Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh and high performance and leadership consultant Geoff Lowe on the panel which will be led by incoming president Luke Sayers in conducting a review of the Blues’ entire football department.

Outgoing president Mark LoGiudice made the announcement today, with the former Dockers skipper the most surprising member of the panel.

In a release, LoGiudice would not put a timeframe on when the review would be completed.

“The experienced panel members will be afforded the time required to conduct the extensive review and as such there will not be an ongoing commentary of the review,” he said.

“We understand our members and supporters expect more from an on-field performance perspective. As a club, we are fully aware that we exist to win games of football and ultimately win premierships.

“You, together with all our members and supporters can rest assured we remain committed to improve our on-field performance, while also ensuring this football club continues to be relentless in its pursuit of excellence and success.”

Teague is under pressure to retain his job at the Blues, having won just four games this season and 17 out of 40 since he took over the job midway through the 2019 season after Brendon Bolton was sacked.

Assistant coach John Barker resigned earlier this week after a decade at the club.
