Australian star Dyson Daniels has landed yet another accolade in the NBA, making the All-Defensive team for the second time in two seasons.

Enjoying another stellar year with Atlanta, Daniels helped the Hawks to the No.6 seeding in the Eastern Conference before falling to the New York Knicks (4-2) in the first round of the playoffs.

Daniels was picked on Friday alongside Toronto's Scottie Barnes, Oklahoma City's Cason Wallace, Miami's Bam Adebayo and New York's OG Anunoby in the NBA's All-Defensive second team.

The Boomers star picked up nine first-place votes and 32 second-place votes.

In 76 games played this season, all starts, Daniels averaged career highs in rebounds (6.8), including a career-best 4.4 defensive boards and 5.9 assists, in addition to 11.9 points and 1.96 steals in 33.2 minutes.

He ranked second in the NBA in steals per game and led all Eastern Conference players in total steals (149).

One of only two guards to grab 500 plus rebounds this season (520), joining Houston's Amen Thompson, Daniels joined Hall-of-Famer Lou Hudson as the only other guard in franchise history to secure at least 500 boards in a single season.

The 23-year-old was also one of just three players in the league to tally at least 500 rebounds and 100 steals and was the first player since Paul George in 2018-19 to record at least 520 boards and 149 thefts in a season.

The first team comprised Victor Wembanyama, Oklahoma City's Chet Holmgren, Detroit's Ausar Thompson, Minnesota's Rudy Gobert and Boston's Derrick White.

Daniels and Gobert were the only players to have made the All-Defensive team in each of the last two seasons.

Wembanyama was the unanimous pick as Defensive Player of the Year and the only unanimous All-Defensive team selection as well, appearing on all 100 first-team ballots.

Gobert is now a nine-time All-Defensive team pick, while Holmgren, Thompson and White were all first-time selections to the first team.
