I don't care about national title: Hull on 1500m drama

Jessica Hull says her failed bid for an unprecedented middle-distance treble at the Australian athletics championships left her in shock.
But the 29-year-old won't waste any time sulking on her lost national 1500m crown as she eyes Commonwealth Games gold.
Hull had set herself an audacious goal of winning the 800m, 1500m and 5000m at Sydney Olympic Park.
Her bid ended on Friday night, with Hull tripping in the 1500m while trying to defend a challenge from Claudia Hollingsworth on the final straight.
Hollingsworth, 21, was disqualified, before being reinstated as the race winner after an appeal on Saturday.
Paris Olympics 1500m silver medallist Hull then withdrew from the 800m due to soreness, before winning the 5000m in 15:13.21 on Sunday.
"I set this (treble) goal in November. It means a lot to me, and in the moment you're just kind of in shock that it gets taken away," Hull said on Sunday.
"It is what it is, and I'll grow from it.
"About four o'clock yesterday, I was over it. I was just like 'You know what, 5K, I'm getting out there'.
"I don't plan to race for another month, so I didn't want to sit on that for a month."
Hull said she has yet to decide her program at the Commonwealth Games in July, but will prioritise the mile event, which replaces the 1500m.
"To run two races, I'm not sure," Hull said.
"I'm at the point in my career where I can, but I would never want to compromise the mile, and it is last at Comm Games."
Hull said she wasn't surprised Hollingsworth's disqualification was overturned, insisting there was no bad blood with the Melburnian.
"Initially, the DQ was based on jostling, which is the hand touch," Hull said.
"They overturned that because it wasn't enough to bring me down.
"I honestly don't care about the national title. I've got 10 of them myself.
"Like, if that's what you want to do to win one, go ahead.
"But it's not the fault of any athlete. It's a bigger, wider circle that sometimes gets involved."
