VideoThe Brisbane Lions removed social media footage showing four-year-old Piper Neal crying during her father Lachie Neale's 300th AFL game at the MCG.

Tess Crosley has fired back at a follower online on her husband Ben’s latest post, as fallout from the Lachie and Jules Neale saga continues.

The 30-year-old mum has remained tight-lipped about her marriage, despite being swept into the controversy over Christmas after Jules Neale publicly ended her relationship with Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale and blamed a former friend.

In February, Tess was seen moving boxes out of the Brisbane home she shared with Ben, though neither has confirmed where things stand between them, besides Ben saying she had moved out.

Over the weekend, Ben shared a series of photos from a day out at Hamilton Island Golf Club with mates, captioned simply: “Closaaah” (a reference to lyrics in Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance and irrelevant to the affair scandal).

Among the replies was a comment from Tess, who posted a pinched-fingers emoji. While the gesture is often associated with frustration or the phrase “what do you want?”, it’s also widely used more casually, sometimes to signal appreciation or emphasis because it’s an Italian gesture. Her intent wasn’t clear from the single emoji alone.

One nosy follower pressed Tess on her relationship status, asking: “Did he forgive you? I’m confused, no offence.”

Tess didn’t hold back in her response, writing: “Don’t think that’s any of your business.”

Despite the ongoing speculation, Tess commenting on Ben’s post, signals the situation between may not be entirely fractured.

Jules Neale was among the thousands who liked Ben’s post, and has interacted with his social media before, suggesting some level of ongoing connection.

The saga first erupted when Jules announced the end of her marriage and subtly accused Tess of being involved by writing an angry comment on one of Tess’ posts, before relocating from Brisbane to Perth with her children.

Lachie later stepped down as co-captain of the Brisbane Lions and addressed the situation publicly and very emotionally.

“While I will not go into specifics, I can say that I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me. For that, I am deeply sorry,” he said at the time.

“I accept this as a consequence of my actions and I need to focus on rebuilding trust with Jules, as the future well-being of our children remains our number one priority.”
