VideoWATCH: Despite reports of a re-injured calf, Harley Bennell is back on the training track for the Melbourne Demons.

It appears Harley Bennell doesn’t seem too bothered by his troublesome calves, with the former Docker showing his impressive skills at Melbourne training this morning.

News broke at the weekend that the 27-year-old had once again injured his calf, putting yet another hurdle in journey to resurrect his AFL career through pre-season Supplemental Selection Period.

But the former No. 2 draft pick not only showed he was moving well, but he had lost none of his silky skills as he trained in Maroochydore, Queensland with the Demons.

Bennell jagged an impressive goal from deep in the right pocket as he walked off the training track, giving everyone a glimpse of the fancy footwork which saw him so hard-sought by Fremantle at the end of 2015.

Having played just two games since 2015 and no AFL football since 2017, Bennell is in a race against time to prove his worth to the Demons, with the SSP cut-off being March 13.

It was feared his chances might have been over with another calf injury, but yesterday Melbourne great Garry Lyon played down the injury and believed Bennell would hit the track today.

It is unclear just how restricted he was at training, but by the looks of the vision he was not too hampered by anything.
