Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has continued his scintillating form with a career-best 46 disposals, steering St Kilda to a comfortable 67-point win over bottom side Essendon.

The Saints’ superstar pulled the strings in midfield in his side’s percentage-boosting 17.15 (117) to 7.8 (50) victory at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

It improved St Kilda’s record to seven wins and nine losses - one win outside the finals places - while Essendon (1-15) are still without a victory from five outings under interim coach Dean Solomon.

Wanganeen-Milera set a new career-high disposal tally for the second time in as many matches, also finishing with one goal and 906 metres gained as best afield.

There were plenty of contributors for the Saints, who posted a triple-figure score for the seventh time this season.

Bradley Hill (42 touches) also had a career-best disposal tally, with Max Hall (33), Hugo Garcia (29) and Mason Wood (27) also among the major ball-winners.

Callum Wilkie led a solid back-line, and Darcy Wilson shone with two goals from 25 touches.

Liam Ryan, Rowan Marshall, Jack Higgins and Anthony Caminiti (two each) were all among the Saints’ dozen goal-kickers.

Essendon never had any momentum or control in the contest, despite the efforts of Sam Durham (24 disposals, nine clearances) and Zach Merrett (28 touches).

Young key forward Nate Caddy finished with 3.3 from 12 disposals.

On return from their bye, St Kilda jumped out of the blocks when Wilson snapped the first goal in the opening minute and never trailed.

Wanganeen-Milera made a blistering start with nine disposals, one goal, one goal assist and 211 metres gained in the opening 14 minutes, before heading to the bench for a rest.

At that stage, there were 10 Bombers who were yet to touch the ball.

Marshall’s goal after the siren gave the Saints a 5.4 to 2.1 lead at quarter-time and the floodgates opened in an eight-goal second term as the margin grew to 71 points before the main break.

Experienced defender Mason Redman’s horror turnover at half-back was a lowlight for Essendon, allowing Saints speedster Liam Henry to stroll in to an open goal.

It was a more even contest after halftime, when St Kilda took their foot off the pedal.

Both sides managed just one goal in the third quarter, before the Saints coasted to victory in the final term.
