AFLW premiership star and Seven sports presenter Abbey Holmes will host AFL’s Brownlow Medal in Perth

AFLW premiership star and Seven sports presenter Abbey Holmes will tonight take fans inside the glitz and glamour on AFL’s night of nights in Perth. The former Adelaide forward is part of the Brownlow Medal red carpet coverage at Optus Stadium and will present the goal and mark of the year awards. Ahead of her official duties, Holmes tried on gowns from local label Meraki Official. But picking a gown was easier than picking tonight’s Brownlow winner. “This year is probably tighter than ever,” Homes told The Sunday Times. Holmes has her money on Western Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli and Melbourne midfielders Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca. “And Ollie Wines could be a bit of a smokey from Port Adelaide, but we’ll just have to wait and see,” she said. Holmes will bring her inside knowledge to her commentary role for this year’s grand final on Saturday. “I'll be on the boundary, probably the best seat in the house, right amongst the action,” she said. Holmes, who is engaged to former West Coast Eagle Keegan Brooksby, lived in Perth in 2019 and knows how passionate West Aussies are for Aussie Rules. “Perth is a diehard footy-loving town,” she said.
