Pauline Hanson, Holly Valance release controversial ‘respect my pronouns’ song for A Super Progressive Movie

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has marked Australia Day by releasing a provocative new song to promote her politically satirical film A Super Progressive Movie.
The track, titled Kiss Kiss (XX) My Arse and performed by Australian-British actress and singer Holly Valance, pokes fun at contemporary progressive politics.
Ms Valance, a former Neighbours star turned outspoken conservative, wrote the song especially for the film.
“MWAH You will respect my pronouns. Not all ladies have ovaries, some have a penis. They say that I’m a he but I’m a she, Coz I gotta V and not a D,” the lyrics said.
“And I don’t care what people say: I’ll never be a him, a them or they. Cause I’m real biological woman. A real biological woman.
“Fave song – from the river to the sea, no job but I bleed LGBT… Q+, ya bigot. Cause I’m a real diabolical lefty.”
The song was created for A Super Progressive Movie, which follows four progressive activists whose rainbow malfunctions, sending them into a world governed by Prime Minister Hanson.
“When we phoned Holly Valance to write us a song for the movie, she instantly said yes,” Ms Hanson wrote on social media.
“A massive shout out to Holly who I know watched the film last night and spat water across the room during one particular scene. Tells me the jokes landed really well.
“If enough copies are sold, the song will be forced to be played on stations across the country, including Triple J. Wouldn’t the ABC have a heart attack knowing they had to play this track!”
The film had already stirred controversy before its release, after a planned trailer screening at Parliament House was cancelled amid concerns it may offend people.
Social media users have reacted to the announcement of the movie.
“On point Australia and the world needs this movie,” one user said. While another said: “Satire is about punching up at authority, institutions, and norms to drive social change. Just from the trailer it’s obvious it’s those in literal authority ie within parliament punching down on groups of people who are survivors of genocide & further alienating the queer community making them seem like weird deviants.”
It comes after a surge in One Nation’s polling numbers, with the party overtaking the Liberal-National Coalition on primary vote, according to the latest Newspoll for The Australian.
One Nation recorded 22 per cent of the primary vote compared with the Coalition’s 21 per cent.
The rise in One Nation support has prompted concern from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who described it as “a worry.”
“Oh, it’s a worry because they can appeal to grievance, but they’re a pretty divisive lot. And I think it’s a worry,” he told KIIS FM.
“I’ll say something nice about the other side of (politics), I’m a believer in mainstream politics and that the parties of government… serve this country pretty well.
“I look at overseas where you have a real fragmentation and, you know, you might have five or six parties in government, and it’s unstable.
“I mean, it’s a reality that the Coalition in particular have to deal with. I think that they need to stand for some positive things as well.”
