Liberal frontbench resignations have been coming in hard and fast as the embattled party fights, from two sides, to get on the path to winning over Australian voters.

As the day progresses, more resignations from current Liberal Leader Sussan Ley’s frontbench are expected.

A leadership spill has officially been requested, with the letter accepted by Ms Ley, with Liberals now waiting for her to decide when a partyroom will be called for a ballot to be conducted.

Angus Leader has announced his candidacy for the leadership, with the two expected to go head-to-head on Thursday or Friday.
