Father’s Day at Perth Zoo has already been a stand-out, with Armani the giraffe getting to meet his two-day old daughter for the very first time.

The adorable moment was captured by zoo staff this morning and has already warmed the hearts of viewers.

The event coincided with free entry into the zoo for all dads to celebrate Father’s Day.

Armani has now fathered four calves, including his latest bub to female Kitoto.

She gave birth this week following a two-and-a-half hour labour.

A zoo spokesperson said both mum and bub were doing well and bonding in the giraffe nursery.

The baby is yet to receive a name; however the public may get to put forward some suggestions.

Perth Zoo has embarked on a specialised regional breeding program after the giraffe population was hit with a 40 per cent decline over the last three decades.
