Police are investigating after a man was seriously injured by a car doing burnouts on a rural property in Caraban, north of Perth.

It will be alleged the man in his 60s was stuck by a white Holden utility that was doing burnouts in a gravel area off Barragoon Road about 7.45pm on Sunday.

Police believe the driver of the ute checked on the man, who suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital, however he is understood to have left the scene shortly after.

Lancelin Police are investigating the incident and would like to speak with anyone who saw what happened or has information about the driver or the vehicle.
