Perth traffic: Car pile-up causes commuter chaos on Kwinana Freeway northbound

At least six cars have been involved in a pile-up on the Kwinana Freeway this afternoon, causing major delays for commuters.

The crash occurred just after 2pm and shut down the right, northbound lanes at Mill Point Road in South Perth.

One motorists received minor injuries and was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A photograph of the incident shows at least six vehicles damaged.

Main Roads WA have since cleared the crash but the speed limit on the new Smart Freeway has been dropped to 60km/h.

There is reportedly heavy congestion in the area, with traffic backed up past Canning Highway.
