The foster brother of murdered school Tiahleigh Palmer will plead guilty to a stealing incident just weeks after he gave evidence about her death at an inquest, a court has been told.

Trent Jordan Thorburn, the son of child killer Rick Thorburn, did not appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court when his matter was briefly mentioned on Wednesday.

Instead, his legal aid lawyer appeared on his behalf asking for an adjournment.
