Live performances Reboot after closure

Staff at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre have been busy working on a five-week series of Saturday night performances known as Reboot.

Reboot will bring South West audiences a curated program of shows and performances by West Australian artists and offer weekly surprises for patrons.

Hosted by artists Nathan Gardiner, Michele Laine and Vahri McKenzie, Reboot will feature a diverse program and offer viewers the chance to experience BREC in a new way.

“Reboot is inviting artists back into the building after a time of closure,” Ms Laine said.

“Since the COVID-19 closures, we haven’t had any live entertainment in the building and want to get the artists back in.

“Reboot will be more of a theatre experience and inviting anybody to apply and are hoping to bring in new ideas, fresh artists and keep it hyper local.”

BREC executive director Fiona de Garis says Reboot is a celebration of WA live performance.

“The BREC foyers, conference rooms and other hidden places will be transformed into makeshift theatre spaces,” Ms de Garis said.

“As well, the Stage One and Cube Theatres will be used to provide unexpected and memorable experiences.”

South West artists interested in performing during the series are being encouraged to register their interest at the entertainment centre.

The first performance of the Reboot series will be held on Saturday, August 29 with four more performances following each week.
