A 19-year-old woman has been convicted of assault after punching a woman six times in the head in an attack at Rockingham train station.

Makai Karamea Falwasser was convicted in her absence at Rockingham Magistrates Court on Friday on two counts of common assault.

Prosecutor Sen. Const. Jessica Anderson told the court the victim had been approached by Falwasser and a co-accused while standing on a platform at the Rockingham train station on October 31, 2022.

There was an argument about the victim talking to Falwasser’s ex-partner.

Falwasser approached the victim and asked her to fight her, but the victim didn’t want to.

The victim continued to back away for about 15 metres and used her pushbike to separate herself from them.

When the victim dropped the bike, Falwasser charged at her, grabbed her hair and punched her in the head six times.

A summons was issued for Falwasser to appear in court, with the matter remanded to February 24 for sentencing.
