As the cost of living skyrockets across Australia, Secret Harbour Square has joined a national campaign to help ease cost of living pressures. The shopping precinct has joined 27 Charter Hall shopping centres in offering $12,000 worth of fuel and supermarket gift cards. It comes after a recent poll found shoppers’ most-desired rewards were fuel and groceries. Secret Harbour Square regional marketing manager Megan Biddle said supporting the local community continued to be a priority. “We’ve partnered with our major retailers Woolworths, Coles and Ampol to provide our community with a value add to their everyday shop,” she said. “We understand the increased financial pressures on households and invite our local community to have some reprieve with a share in our $12k giveaway.” Shoppers have seen a huge price spike in many food and grocery categories in recent months, most notably fresh fruit and vegetables and non-durable household products such as toilet paper, dishwashing soap and light bulbs. The rising cost of fuel has also been a source of stress for many families, the average household spend on petrol increasing to $278 a month, $57 higher than at the start of the year. To claim a gift card worth up to $50, shoppers will need to spend $30 at specialty stores or $80 at major shops. The campaign will run between 10am-2pm until August 20; for more information, visit the Secret Harbour Square website.
