Rockingham ratepayers may soon have to spare another $48 for rates as the council is expected to vote this week on advertising its proposed rates for the 2022-23 financial year.

The City of Rockingham will on Tuesday vote to adopt advertising a proposed minimum 3.9 per cent rate rise.

The increase would set minimum household rates at $1266, an increase of $48 from last year’s $1218 minimum. Unimproved valuation properties would see rates rise from $630 to $655.

The report also advises that approval of the proposed 2022-23 rates is anticipated to yield about $99.88 million for the City.
