A Kwinana day care centre has been crowned the SA/WA service national finalist for 2021 in this year’s Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.

Bright Futures Children’s Services was recognised by Family Day Care Australia for its “continued excellence in early childhood education and care” and was presented the award last Wednesday by Brand MP Madeleine King and Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams.

In the 2021 awards, Bright Futures was selected as one of four national finalists out of 128 nominated family daycare services across Australia.

Family Day Care Australia has been running the awards for 10 years, and chief executive Andrew Paterson said he was thrilled to recognise Bright Futures’ longstanding service to the community.

“Bright Futures Children’s Services is evidence of the passion and dedication that thrives in the family day care community. We are thrilled to recognise their achievements in early education and care on a national scale,” he said.

“The nurturing, natural approach to play and discovery provided by services like Bright Futures Children’s Services is what makes family day care an option of choice for so many Australian families.”

Bright Futures has been operating since 1988 and services the Kwinana community.

While Victorian centre Baw Baw Family Day Care took out the top spot for service of the year, service manager Lynne Brooke said the SA/WA award shone a spotlight on the hard work staff at Bright Futures put into co-ordinating family day care in Kwinana.

“Being named a national finalist has given Bright Futures recognition for the quality services we provide for educators, children and families,” she said.
