Popular WA rockers Eskimo Joe will headline the City of Rockingham’s New Year’s Eve Celebration at Churchill Park on December 31.

Fireworks will light up the sky at both 9pm and midnight, with free children’s amusement activities and a selection of food vendors available throughout the event.

City of Rockingham mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged the community to take advantage of the opportunity to see one of WA’s biggest bands live.

“The City of Rockingham’s New Year’s Eve Celebration is a major annual event that attracts thousands of visitors and this year attendees will have the chance to sing along to a number of Eskimo Joe’s hits as they rock the foreshore,” Cr Hamblin said.

“The New Year’s Eve Celebration gives us an opportunity to come together to celebrate and reflect on what has been another busy and, at times, challenging year.

“Our City is the place where the coast comes to life, and we encourage people from far and wide to come and Rediscover Rockingham as we wave goodbye to 2021, and welcome the New Year.”

Eskimo Joe will be supported by AbbaFab, VHS Pirates, PUMP and a number of other local acts.

The New Year’s Eve Celebration is a major part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.

Additional parking for the event will be available at the Village Green. Visitors can also access additional 555 bus services that will be operating from Rockingham train station at 15-minute intervals between 4pm and 1am.
