Comet Bay College school fire: Teen charged with criminal damage and burglary

A 15-year-old boy from Perth’s South has been charged in relation to a fire that broke out at a school in Secret Harbour last week. About 7.30pm on Thursday, June 8, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at Comet Bay College on Allatoona Avenue. Crews found a two-storey classroom in the middle of the school engulfed in flames and worked for close to two hours to bring it under control. The inferno was extinguished by midnight, with a small re-ignition at 3am which was quickly put out. The teenager was arrested at the scene and has been charged with criminal damage and burglary. He is due to appear in Perth Children’s Court on Wednesday. Investigations remain ongoing with a $25,000 reward available to anyone with further information.
