Athletes, clubs, teams and volunteers are being called on to enter the 2022 Sports Star Awards, with the City of Rockingham officially opening nominations.

This year marks 25 years of recognising and rewarding the achievements of local sporting individuals, clubs and teams participating in international, national, State, regional and local competition levels.

City of Rockingham mayor Deb Hamblin said the awards were a great opportunity to nominate a worthy recipient.

“We are fortunate to have a number of gifted athletes, successful sporting teams and dedicated volunteers in our city who deserve to be recognised for their efforts,” she said.

The awards night will be at the Gary Holland Community Centre on September 21, with awards to be given out in the following categories:

  • Club of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Senior Sports Star of the Year
  • Junior Sports Star of the Year
  • Sports Star of the year with Disability
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • John Brown Lifetime Achievement Memorial Award

Nominations for the Sports Star Awards close at 4.30pm on July 29. For more information or to obtain a nomination form, visit the City of Rockingham website.
