A proposed Baldivis tavern has been approved by the State Government’s Joint Development Assessment Panel. The $3.75 million venue to be called ‘The Whitehorse Tavern’ will be on Fifty Road in Baldivis, with a capacity of 834 patrons. The JDAP approval will allow construction of the venue across four years from June 3 but 20 conditions need to be met, including a bushfire management plan, waste management plan and car parking space requirements. Once the conditions have been met, an application for a building permit will need to be submitted and approved to allow construction to start. The 6502sqm stable-style pub will be the latest addition to Baldivis and will have a bar, kitchen and amenities area, an undercover alfresco area, a two-lane drive-through liquor store, 140 carparking spaces and 18 short-term bicycle parking spaces. The City of Rockingham held public consultation for the proposed venue in 2021 and received 27 submissions, with 19 in support and eight objections.
