Two men charged over alleged Rockingham car park armed robbery

Two men have been charged with aggravated armed robbery after an incident at an underground car park in Rockingham yesterday.

At about 5.30pm, the victim, a woman in her 20s had just parked her Hyundai Accent in the underground carpark of a shopping centre located on Syren Street when it is alleged she was approached by the men.

It is further alleged the men, one armed with a knife, threatened the woman and demanded she get out of her car. The men then drove off with her car.

Police located the men and the vehicle a short time later and they were taken into custody.

A 23-year-old man from Corrigin and a 27-year-old man from Thornlie have been charged with aggravated armed robbery and they are due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
