Singleton man charged with assault

A 35-year-old Singleton man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a woman and a man at Weld Park in Perth yesterday afternoon.

The 25-year-old woman, who is know to the accused, was confronted by him about 2pm. He allegedly attacked her and caused swelling and bruising to her face.

A 46-year-old man, know to the victim, then approached and was allegedly stabbed in the chest by the 35-year-old man with a knife.

The accused then ran away along Parry Street.

The victims followed the accused along Parry Street towards Stirling Street where they confronted him.

He struck the woman to the right forearm with the knife causing a laceration that required medical attention.

The Singleton man has been charged with two counts of unlawful wounding and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, 28 July 2020.
