RSC four off to Nationals
The Rockingham Swimming Club have wrapped up a successful weekend at the Swimming WA State Short Course Championships on September 6 -8.
Supported by head coach Brooke Kemp and new junior head coach Adam Cowie, the Rockingham swimmers were in great shape for the weekend of racing.
Competing against 35 other clubs and WA’s best, Rockingham’s team of 22 swimmers took out 4th place on the overall club points table.
Rockingham finished with 107 personal best performances from 159 races, and a total of 37 podium finishes.
Damien Badenhorst, Josh Spencer, Lilly Beste and Harrison Ratcliffe performed particularly well and will compete at the national competition held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra from October 2-8.
Club president Steve Hughes said the club was making leaps and bounds in overall performance, while also helping children to see the value of hard work and perseverance in a team environment.
“We couldn’t be more proud of these athletes,” he said.
