A Rockingham man will face court after allegedly trying to commit armed robbery in three business premises, one in Cooloongup, earlier this month.

The 21-year-old will appear before Perth Magistrates Court today following a police investigation, facing two counts of armed robbery and one of attempted armed robbery.

Police claim the man entered a business on Ennis Avenue in Cooloongup on Friday, March 3 brandishing a metal pole and using the weapon to smash the cash register before fleeing with money.

A second incident about 4.20pm on Monday, March 6 saw the same man allegedly enter a Hamilton Hill business on Forrest Road.

He again was allegedly brandishing a metal pole and demanded money. Police say the man was confronted by a staff member and left empty handed.

The third reported incident occurred on the same day at a fast-food restaurant in Jindalee about 10.10pm.

Police claim the man was in possession of a set of bolt cutters, while he is accused of swinging a knife at a staff member.

He allegedly stole money from the till before fleeing.
